''It's a winter wonderland that looks as if it might have been created by the touch of Queen Elsa in Walt Disney's Frozen.
But these ice caves and tunnels are real, surviving summer because they lie 500m (3,000 ft) above sea level in the Cairngorms.
They are thought to be remnants of a huge block of snow and ice which settled in the mountainside and was protected by the shade during the summer months.

ngs, have been carved out by melted water running underneath the ice.
A climber who discovered them said: ''I was in the Cairngorms hiking when I spotted what looked like a big chunk of ice and snow. Although it was cold, probably below freezing, there was no other snow around. It took a few hours to get to, but when I arrived, I was shocked to find what looked like a mini glacier. I believe it will be a permanent fixture now as it hasn't melted over the summer and it won't get the opportunity to to melt now that it's Autumn.''
